Overview
Ahupe Ghat is a mountain pass that connects Khopivali village in the Konkan region to Ahupe village on the Ghats. Trekking through this ghat is not very strenuous, making it ideal for a one-day hike, especially during the monsoon. The trail passes through thick forest and offers picturesque views from the top.
The edges of the ghat drop vertically to the Konkan, with many narrow gorges featuring breathtaking depths. In the monsoon, the region is adorned with numerous waterfalls and gushing streams flowing through the gorges.
Ahupe village is incredibly scenic. It resembles a remote hamlet, perched between a steep, narrow drop to the Konkan on one side and surrounded on the other three sides by a mountain range, effectively cutting it off from the Deccan Plateau.
From the top, one can enjoy views of Damdamia, Bhimashankar, Durga Killa, Dhakoba, Gorakhgad, and more.
